Library Pen Pal Project: Thankful for Our Community

November 2, 2019 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

library pen pal project

The Kailua-Kona Public Library is participating in a Library Pen Pal Project with the Osborne Public Library! Keiki 7 through 11 years old are invited to join a focused writing community that will help us forge a positive relationship with the children of Osborne Public Library in Osborne, Kansas.

Through our writing projects, our keiki and Kansas keiki will learn about each other and their respective communities, letter writing skills and etiquette, and the joy of creating and receiving hand-written mail!

The writing focus for November’s meeting will be community and things that we are thankful for. Participants are also welcome to create a holiday card for our friends in Kansas.

Our writing group meets up periodically to connect and work on writing projects, both individual and collaborative. The updated schedule for the Library Pen Pal Project is:

  • Saturday, November 2nd at 11:00 A.M.
  • Saturday, January 18 at 11:00 A.M.
  • Saturday, February 1 at 11:00 A.M.

The Library Pen Pal Project is proudly sponsored by the Friends of the Libraries, Kona (F.O.L.K.).

If you need an auxiliary aid/service or other accommodation due to a disability, please contact the library at least 7 days prior to the program date.We will make every attempt to fulfill all requests for accommodations. All programs are subject to change. For a list of upcoming library events, visit test-library.ehawaii.gov/events
