Doug Simons, executive director at the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope, will discuss future astronomical discoveries that are on the horizon, many linked to observations from Maunakea. Fueled by exponential
advancements in technology, our understanding of dark matter and energy, black holes, the first stars in the universe, and how even “new physics” is growing rapidly.
Participants will learn about how astronomy provides us with many of the pieces needed to fill in that big picture.

If you need an auxiliary aid/service or other accommodation due to a disability, please contact the library at least 7 days prior to the program date. We will make every attempt to fulfill all requests for accommodations.
