Yes! Let’s make Tin Can Ice Cream! January 15 is when we celebrate this tasty cold treat. Dating back to at least 1813, strawberry ice cream was served at the second inauguration of James Madison. Making homemade ice cream in a can is fun, easy and uses only a few ingredients. Our ice cream will be made by blending strawberry flavoring with eggs, evaporated milk, vanilla and sugar in a 1 lb coffee can surrounded by ice and rock salt in a larger 3 lb can. Ingredients will be provided but please bring a clean, empty 1 lb and 3 lb coffee can if you are able. Some will be provided; and call to reserve a spot! 808-453-6566 beginning on December 28.
