Peter has managed Amy B.H. Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden in Captain Cook for the last twenty years. He has grown and studied many native Hawaiian plants during his tenure there. Peter is very knowledgeable and passionate about the growth habits, needs and tolerances of the endemic, indigenous and canoe plants that have been grown at the garden. He has overseen the maintenance of the garden during its current transition to new ownership, and will present the possibilities for the community to visit and get involved in the garden once new ownership is finalized. A presentation handout will be provided to help you decide which native plants to include in your garden, landscape or farm.
The Community Seed Library is generously supported by the Friends of the Libraries, Kona (FOLK). If you need an auxiliary aid/service or other accommodation due to a disability, please contact the library at least 7 days prior to the program date. We will make every attempt to fulfill all requests for accommodations. All programs are subject to change. For a list of upcoming library events, visit test-library.ehawaii.gov/events.
