Where can I get Hawaii tax forms?
The tax forms are mailed by January 31. The libraries receive the tax forms by early to mid-February.
Who can help me use them?
Library staff will work hard to make sure the form(s) you need will be available but we are not trained to provide answers on what forms to use or how to fill them out.
For assistance with Hawaii tax forms and refund status, go to Hawaii Tax Online or call the State Department of Taxation, Monday – Friday from 7:45am – 4:00pm, except on state holidays.

AARP Tax-Aide Services at Libraries
The AARP tax preparation services will be available at the following libraries between February and April. Masks are required for all AARP Tax-Aide Service locations.
All patrons are asked to be respectful of their neighbors and our staff by continuing to follow guidelines for preventing the spread of COVID-19:
- staying at home if you are sick
- washing hands
- covering coughs and sneezes
- avoiding close contact with others, and continuing to distance appropriately

Federal tax forms and Resources
New Filing Deadline: April 18, 2023
The Form 1040 and 1040-SR as well as other forms and publications can be downloaded from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) website or ordered by calling 1-800-TAX-FORM (1-800-829-3676).
If you need tax help, call 1-800-829-4477 for recorded tax information, or call 1-800-829-1040 to speak with an IRS taxpayer assistance representative.
For Federal refund status, use the Check My Refund Status tool on the IRS Refunds page or call 1-800-829-1954 to use the automated system. You may also call 1-800-829-1040 to speak with an agent.
For income below $73,000, the Guided Tax Preparation software products are available for free of charge on the IRS website. For those with income above $73,000, only the Free File Fillable Forms, electronic versions of forms, are available for free.
The tax forms are mailed by January 31st. The libraries receive the tax forms by early to mid-February. Call your local library for availability.
